CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

T.A.K.E.’s Civic Engagement program is rooted in the belief that political power must be built from the ground up, led by and for trans people. Based in Alabama and Pennsylvania, we work year-round to educate, mobilize, and activate our community around the issues that most impact our lives—from trans rights and racial justice to voting access and criminal legal reform. We partner with state representatives, grassroots leaders, and allied organizations to advance legislation, including a slate of groundbreaking bills we co-drafted in Pennsylvania aimed at protecting trans youth. Our work also includes strengthening coalitions, and investing in the leadership of our volunteers. Through strategic organizing, relationship building, and deep community engagement, we’re growing a powerful grassroots base prepared to take action, defend our rights, and shape a more just and equitable future.
